Welcome to Christ Anglican Church. We hope the information provided here will help you feel at ease and enable you to follow along with the service. If you have questions, please ask one of the greeters, someone near you, or one of the clergy for help.
Positions for worship (standing, kneeling, sitting) are custom only. Please feel free to assume the posture that is helpful for you physically and spiritually at any time throughout the service.
Large print BAS Eucharist Books are available at the prayer table for those wishing to use one.
Lightweight copies of music are also available.
At the time of the Peace it is customary to greet one another in the name of Christ with a handshake or suitable gesture and the words “The Peace of Christ be with you.” We save conversation for later. It is not necessary to greet everyone in the church, but those around you. We are aware that individuals have, for many and sometimes significant reasons, different comfort levels with physical contact. Please respect these differences.
At the Offertory Hymn a monetary offering is received from among the assembly by the passing of plates and presented with the offering of bread and the wine. Visitors’ envelopes are available, hanging on the pew backs, so visitors may receive a tax receipt for their offering.
At the time of Communion - Christ Church espouses a theology of open table at the banquet of the Eucharist inviting all those who are desirous to come to the table, regardless of denomination or baptismal status. You are welcome to receive communion.
Children are always welcome at our services. On alternative weeks the Atrium of the Good Shepherd provides children with a work place during the worship time.
